About Me
My name is Alexis, and I am a labor & postpartum doula, a yoga instructor, and a reiki practitioner. I am currently living and serving clients in Los Angeles, CA, and I am so excited to connect with you.
I was called to birthwork since I was 6 years old and I used to tell people I wanted to deliver babies when I grew up. I remember people telling me I didn’t know what I was talking about or it wasn’t as cool as I thought it was… 20 years later I can honestly say they were the ones that did not know what they were talking about.
My mission is to rewrite our perceptions of pregnancy, labor, & postpartum, and to reintegrate trust in the female body into the childbirth experience.
My birthwork is centered around female empowerment through physical, emotional, informational, and spiritual support. I teach my clients to listen and trust their own feminine wisdom about their birth experience.
Birth Philosophies
Female bodies were perfectly designed to carry and birth their children.
Childbirth is uniquely feminine in a world of masculine energy. It is powerful & wild, soft & emotional, intuitive & divinely guided. This makes it very hard to predict and control, and that is completely okay.
Medications and medical intervention can not make a normal childbirth experience any more safe. Medications and medical intervention can be powerful life saving tools in the right situation, but there needs to be more discernment about when is and isn’t the right time to use them.
The mind-body connection plays a large role in the childbirth process.
